ALL DECISIONS REMAIN FINAL
This Friday (July 8th) at the AMSOIL Speedway in Superior, WI, the Super Stock drivers in attendance will have a bonus race to compete in, but who will win, will be anyone's guess, as it will be contested in a way that none of the drivers have ever competed before - BACKWARDS!
The Rivord family is putting up a $900 to win 9-lap race, which will be held after the regular racing program is done on Friday night, in memory of Steve Rivord, who passed away in June. Steve competed in the #9 Super Stock for several seasons.
The event will feature 16 of the Super Stock drivers that are in attendance on Friday night - those drivers will be drawn randomly out of everyone in attendance who wants to be eligible for the event - and then after the final regular race of the night, the 16 drivers that are selected will be brought out onto the front stretch and will line up and run this special 9-lap event the opposite direction that they normally do. Turn four will actually be turn one and turn one will actually be turn four.
The Rivord family is still working on some sponsorship for the event, but all 16 drivers that compete in the race will receive some pay - the final number will not be known until Friday night.
Hopefully this event proves to be as exciting as it sounds and honors a great guy the way he liked to do things in life - backwards!

For the first time in two weeks the AMSOIL Speedway was able to
get a full racing program completed. Scheduled for Friday's program
was a whopping nine feature events including four make up main events
and five regularly scheduled features as well as weekly qualifying heats
in all five divisions.
