ANDERSON SNARES FIRST COMO MODIFIED SERIES FEATURE

It was "Sneak as Peek" night at the Head of the Lakes Fair, no
fairgrounds admission, and race number four of the 2011 Como Oil &
Propane Modified Series Tuesday night at the AMSOIL Speedway. 39
Modifieds were in competition along with 11 Midwest Modifieds, 20
WISSOTA Super Stocks and 24 Pure Stocks.

NELSON DOUBLES UP AT AMSOIL SPEEDWAY

7-8-11 Superior, WI
The racing started out with a pair of Midwest Modified heats that
were for the scheduled program. After those two races, the Pure Stock
feature left over from June 24th was run. It was torture getting in the first
five laps of the scheduled 15 as Austin Blom led restart after restart,
three of them for debris on the speedway. The fourth caution flag saw
Ashley Smith and Chad Nikstad facing the wrong way on the back
stretch. The final ten circuits went off without further stoppages as Blom
clung to the lead with Steve Udeen close behind. Blom took the win
ahead of Udeen, Dudtin Follett, Matt Madsen and Justin Madsen.
Opening Night 2011

A good crowd of race fans braved the cool temperatures and Lake Superior wind as the 2011 season opened at the newly renamed AMSOIL Speedway. A stout field of 96 cars came to compete at the fast three eighths mile clay oval including 20 WISSOTA Late Models, 17WISSOTA Modifieds, 24 WISSOTA Super Stocks, 10 Midwest Modifieds and 25 Pure Stocks.
